Had a chat with a friend (

) a couple of days ago. My biggest takeaway is that code quality and (initial) product focus are fundamentally at odds. You can’t worry about code quality when you’re building version 1. Take all the shortcuts necessary.

sure. But then you need time and bandwidth to patch stuff... Will that ever come?

Yeah I always thought there might be a middle path. I’m going to test this idea, for sure, but it’s starting to seem like there isn’t.

I mean I've been trying to patch "temp hacks" for 5 years, so I must be doing something wrong. Hope you find out :p
