Was going to suggest "seems like nationalism would be a solution", and was pleasantly surprised to see that's the author's proposed solution.

I find many of her solutions deeply problematic, to be honest — but only on a “can it really be done?!” level. I think the real value I got out of the piece was just the way she framed the problems. I haven’t really thought through her recommendations.
