The problem with introspecting in search of truth is that there’s often a limit to what you can discover inside yourself.

1/ I've been working on org-roam for some time, and it seems to be getting some reposts on reddit now. It's not quite ready yet, but seems like now is as good a time as any to share it:

I used to wonder why the interfaces on Star Trek are so clunky given that it's centuries in the future, but I guess that's just Enterprise software for you

Oh, this is genius: “The common element between the Thai-owned motel and the Thai restaurant is most likely a hard-working, ambitious Thai family, with one or two wonderful cooks.”

The most heartbreaking sentence in this piece: “And then Jobs died, and I’ve never been able to shake the sense that this particular vision of the iPad died with him.”

To sort of back that up a bit: a book with principles for practice should be evaluated by putting those principles into practice. If the principles work, then the book is good. If it isn't, then the book isn't. I wish there was a way to balance reviews on Goodreads. But, alas.

It's pretty remarkable that the top voted review of High Output Management on Goodreads is by an idiot who has never been a manager in his life.

RIP Clayton Christensen. Innovator’s Dilemma transformed business, and Competing Against Luck is required reading for every tech Product Manager. Christensen managed create frameworks like “jobs to be done” that have transformed multiple professions. Incredible person and legacy.

To be fair, most people I know who were following the replication crisis didn’t expect Growth Mindset to survive, but I don’t think we expected it to fall NOW … more like in 5 years or so.
