She just came to me stressed out to ask whether I thought the latest voicemail (supposedly from the Social Security Administration) was also a scam or if she should call them back. This is a deluge on our elderly and it's disgusting.

This is already horrible, but what's even more horrible is that this happens in multiple languages. I still have my (late) Chinese grandmother's cell phone and she received/receives all these same voicemail threats—IN CHINESE. I'm sure it's also happening in Spanish.

Oh god, when my mom passed I moved her land line phone number to my VOIP service. It is effing insane the scam calls it gets.
