I've been experimenting with methods by which to build fluent builder interfaces in functionally. I ended up developing this solution, borrowing from 's `Action` type. I think it's somewhat elegant, but if you see any major flaws, feel free to point them out.

4 to 8 bytes rather for Ints and BigInts.

I'm architecting a system that follows . My Repository needs to persist an entity with a DB-generated PK int ID. But, it's a Command so I can't return the ID. GUIDs for are going to be 16 bytes, not 4, and INSERT ... RETURNING will break CQS. Maybe go with Hi-Lo?

You said you'd have an update on the dark theme in 2020, . Do you still have any intentions of doing that?

That's amazing . Your channel is, hands down, the best on YouTube for electronic and electrical engineering.

I would argue that having code that works without understanding **why** it works is an order of magnitude more dangerous than having code that doesn't work at all.

I just learned that "Latency" and "Response Time" are not the same - latency represents a delay incurred in communicating a request (e.g. a req. from China to a datacenter in the US), while Response Time is the time it takes to process a request plus network & queuing delays.

V8 hits its long-awaited v8.0, now with optional chaining, nullish coalescing, faster higher-order builtins — oh and 40% less memory use thanks to pointer compression, no big deal. h8rs gonna h8, V8ers gonna V8 🔥🔥🔥

We just released TypeScript 3.8 Beta! Try out our new features like type-only imports, and ECMAScript features like private fields, `export * as foo`, top-level 'await', and more!

I see many implementations of the Repository Pattern containing save methods. I disagree with that; to me, a Repo is an in-memory collection of domain objects. I prefer having Repos operate on a Unit of Work context, leaving persistence of entities to the committing of the UoW.

Database design time. I'm weighing using UUIDs or Auto-Incrementing Integers for my PKs for . ULIDs are also an option, but I'm not sure what type to use for them outside of CHAR(26) or BigInt - did you ever figure that out ?

I was checking the version/build number of 's Windows client recently. I noticed they have a button to quickly copy the number. That's really useful for reporting bugs, etc., (not that I've encountered any) & is something I haven't seen before with other software.

As much as I love & respect the great people working there, I think it's vital that beginners new to , or even coding in general, work with both non-relational and relational databases, & don't just default to what every single beginner tutorial describes.

Good news, everybody! We have started work on a much-requested feature: an open-source Vulkan driver! Find out more and meet the 'first triangle' in 's latest blog post

I need to use 's Video SDK in my front-end for . None of the OSS solutions are really helping. I'm thinking of building my own wrapper in around the IOS and Android Twilio SDKs for both myself and the community.

I learned the other day that on & other engines, in terms of cold starts, `JSON.parse('...')` is faster than an object literal. The parser knows that the string is either valid JSON or not (binary), whereas, in literals, you might have JSON mixed with other JS constructs.

The concept of Either Monads, time and time again, tends to be explained rather poorly. I'm thinking of writing an article on the subject. Does anyone have any thoughts on why that's so and what, in particular, could be improved?

I find TypeScript to be essential for large projects built on Node. Some people rather dislike littering a code base with interfaces, making JavaScript more like Java, but I love it and I'm not going back. I'm excited to complete my integration in TS.

Has anyone used the Mux Live Video APIs? 's website is remarkably well-built, their documentation remarkably well-written, & their pricing remarkably generous. It almost feels too good to be true. Even without official mobile SDKs, pushing an RTMP Stream is still painless.

I was ordering food last night. I ended up clicking the "Order" button twice, but the card was only charged once and only one order of food arrived. I'm rather thankful for Idempotency in APIs at the moment.
