Women of color organized. They voted. Their voices were heard.

Jill Biden taught a 5/5 load as Second Lady! Impressive, but was she part of a union pushing for a more livable schedule for community college teachers?

So shocked that white women had a whole summer to read white fragility and even more of them voted for Trump in 2020

Yes, the popular rebellions of 2020 are definitely what convinced Democrat candidates to run tepid, losing centrist campaigns in 2020 (& 2010 and 1994 and ...)

Kasich is not a Democrat. This is insulting. He doesn’t get to define the agenda and the party should not throw the base overboard to please the opposition who voted against them. Not once have I seen anyone tell the GOP that the FIRST thing upon election is to appease the Dems.

A massive win—farm workers have been explicitly written out of many labor protections, with so few states providing the right to unionize. The ongoing fight for overtime, collective bargaining, disability & workers comp is something to look to in an era of gig work & side hustles

Thinking about how some of us knew five years ago that Trump was not a joke/unlikely to be elected, that he represented something already in place and emerging ever more clearly, while he was still seen as a joke by so many. A reminder to not let our guards down

This captures my sentiment. Let's also not mute the work of BIPOC organizers outside of the electoral space who organized folks in key states. Join and build their capacity to continue our work.

Winery owned by two amazing black women and sisters. Seems appropriate to open today to celebrate for a bit.

Today at my talk I got excited and got a little off topic and started waving my hands about the bit from the song Bread and Roses - 'hearts can starve as well as bodies' - and the Big Bill Haywood quote 'nothing is too good for the working class.'

Sex workers who have been out in the streets fighting for all our rights, who helped make the blueprint for mutual aid & informal networks of support, did so much to get that man out of office and can’t even express grief over the harm caused by KH without being told to shut up

Today all over the world we can give a collective sigh of relief! We turned back Trumpism! Organizing did that! We have much to do, but for now we celebrate & rest. In the words of Chief Sitting Bull, "Let us put our minds together and see what life we make for our children."

There's a shit ton of work ahead. And on my feed, I see folx grumbling about Biden - he wasn't my pick either! But let's take a day to breath a sigh of relief, rest & celebrate! The battle isn't over but celebrating victories is important too! We all needed a win.
