At the end of the day, few conservatives actually support *any* policy changes that would redistribute sex/expose women to possibly violent partners. The major policy to address sex distribution would be legalizing sex work. That's a common thing for progressives to favor.

This isn't some kind of clever gotcha. Just that I'm shocked to see so many progressives turn on the longstanding progressive argument that legalizing sex work reduces male criminality, particularly sex crimes.

When it comes to who it is that wants to have designated places stocked with women whose job is to have sex with lonely, partnerless men, the answer turns out to not be "conservatives."

I don’t think progressives want to “stock” any place with women (does anyone?), but rather allow for sex work to be a legal occupational choice

which has the effect of creating spaces supplied with women (and men! but mostly women) who, often by virtue of lack of other options, will have sex for money.

we may dislike the term "stocking" but c'mon brothel owners historically treated the women as inventory, and would in our time as well

No more so than owners of nail salons “stock” manicurists

I would suggest selling one's own body is different from selling a manicure; it is the commodification of the flesh itself.
