as my twittersphere has drifted away from the blue tribe and toward the gray tribe i've started to notice occasionally feeling like it would be possible to disagree with somebody i'm talking to without them instantly blocking and pillorying me, it's a weird sort of… free feeling

I think this has to do with grey tribe having very little social power in most contexts, and being more agreeable to (so there are less things to be outgrouped about).

if a group manages to be less vicious because the stakes are low instead of more vicious that speaks tremendously of its character right there
