do we understand why there dont seem to be many wacky-ass serial killers anymore? seems like there were tons and tons in the 60s-80s but when was the last time we had a new serial killer? maybe its just bad impulse control everywhere and they just go spree killing instead idk

I don't know why patterns would change, other than understanding they need to be more careful with advancements in LEO tech. Adapt or die sort of thing.

I think we still have serial killers they're just not as obvious or visible. Society is ever more complex and with that complexity comes myriad ways to hide in plain sight and normalize otherwise abnormal behavioral tells. We just don't have comic book 60s Batman serial killers.
