idea: positive versus negative (affiliations? creeds?) positive: we are defined by belief in X negative: we are defined by not-belief in X hunch: positive creeds tend more oppressive than negative when they're popular

Are there many examples of negative creeds that became popular without morphing into positive ones though? If not, and if the popularity of a creed increases its perception of oppressiveness, negative creeds are less oppressive because they rarely become popular.

yeah I was thinking about that seems plausible that instead they just fade out (because there's no policy to implement) "I dont believe in Drug War" seems to be winning with extreme chill, maybe?
