It's so much more important for high-schoolers to learn basic statistics than for them to learn trigonometry -- whoever made that decision 150 years ago should be exhumed and fired

Some nerds are pointing out that trig is the root of stats, which, yes. But to teach *practical* intro stats to, like, 10th graders, you really don't need trig. We talking probability, sample sizes, other stuff that comes up in day-to-day life and citizenship.
