when I move to a place with higher electrical capacity, might buy some old server CPUs, cheapass mobos, and expensive GPUs to expand my burgeoning empire

Lol buying into the crash It's totally fine, the capital goods can be repurposed even if XMR -> 0 and my apartment needs to be heated through April or so anyway

Hmm, could cram another couple of 1080TIs into my dual boot Upsides: probably an extra $10/day, would pay for themselves by summer Downsides: might overload my circuit, probably requires a new power supply hm

Grabbed another 1080TI, figured out how to manage this without a new PSU buy Think that does it for this round tho

Evidence of mining capacity expansion: AMZN is out of stock on high-end PSUs. Had to debase myself with a Corsair and pay for rush on Newegg. Earlier, ended up getting another 1080ti, figured out I can cram 3x1080 in my consumer rig and 3x1080ti in my workstation.

Okay. Pulling in about $8/day in XMR with CPUs, $17.50 in BTC from
@NiceHashMining with 3x1080 and 1x1080ti. The 1080ti hashrate is double any one 1080 (!!!). Stacking 3 gpus in my workstation is getting a little toasty (85c even with a box fan), SO . . .2 replies 1 retweet 4 likesShow this thread -

Replying to @fire__exit @NiceHashMining
not tracking directly, but would guess ~1.2kW at $0.0695/kWh TDPs for what that's worth: 180W per 1080 250-280W per 1080ti 140W, i7-5280k 165W per e5-2687v4 50-100 per various low end cpus etc

Damn, I'm envious. I pay 22 cents the kWh over here.
