oooh. hmmm yeah kindness seems more for certain intimate situations when one might be polite for an acquaintance?

I occasionally have the experience of someone who has been interacting with me suddenly looking surprised and saying,"You're really polite."

Whether that means I am not polite very often or that my form of politeness is subtle and unnoticed I leave as an exercise for the student.
