object level view incoming not much love for cops here but as a past target of prosecution, hard for me to be upset a not guilty verdict
which was a bad outcome, as was this almost surely but condition on state at beginning of the trial; what was process issue?

I think the initial conditions were rotten (and the circumstances that lead to them worse); but maybe this was fair coin toss in a bad game.
