I think I'm harsh on neurodiversity people mainly because it takes away from the horrors of living w/ e.g. my asperger's & bipolar disorder

to your point I wonder if maybe people have a hard time _accepting_ something difficult or unusual in others without fetishizing it

I think so tbh. Most Neurodiversity advocates seem to be lightly affected - e.g. asperger's in loving family & not bullied at school.

To them it is a quirk, but they extrapolate their benefits + disavdantages to more severe almost zero benefit cases as well, and I need meds
