today has been an interesting day for vehement disagreement lotsa people who barely even appear to be speaking the same language i find myself wondering how i will manage if i discover myself someday having this depth of disagreement with mauvlet

a related idea that fascinates me is captured in the phrase "science advances one funeral at a time" i suppose my family's model of the world will be advanced by my funeral. but i hope not by much.

i think youll do ok. one pointer maybe: one thing my dad taught me was not to feel the need to Opine. when i was maybe fifteen we had to write an opinion essay for english. someone took abortion, it got me thinking

when i went home that night he was reading on the couch. i asked him "dad what do you think of abortion" he lowered his book and looked at me over his glasses "oh! thats a really good question. well, i think it should be encouraged. we need more abortions. a Lot more"
