hm @CBWymanWriter were you aware that until 1983 doctors performed surgery on infants without anaesthesia because they simply assumed babies didnt feel pain and only stopped when a mother sued when she found out her baby got open heart surgery with no pain relief

Until recently it was standard to have med students and residents do pelvic exams on women under anesthesia without their consent and unrelated to the procedure being performed. Non-MDs need to realize standard hospital practices can be horrible without any noted dissent.
