Huey Long actually accomplished things as governor, though.

The best Huey Long story is how he got Death Valley built at LSU. Legislature wouldn't appropriate funds for a football stadium, so Long got them to appropriate funds for dorms. He then had the dorms built with about a stadium-sized gap between them.

Then they basically just built bleachers on the side of the dorms.

The other great (but possibly apocryphal?) one is how he accidentally screwed their swim team. Supposedly he wanted LSU to have the biggest everything, including pool, so he went to the construction site and moved the corner markers by a foot to make the pool bigger.

Of course, that meant LSU's pool was not regulation size, so they couldn't host swim meets.

Yeah - because then you can't compare times from other meets and set records
