hm @CBWymanWriter were you aware that until 1983 doctors performed surgery on infants without anaesthesia because they simply assumed babies didnt feel pain and only stopped when a mother sued when she found out her baby got open heart surgery with no pain relief

I know I probably have an outside opinion on this, but I seriously wonder if the risk/ reward is worth it. I've made the surgery call for the kid before, and was always more nervous about the anesthesia part than the surgery itself.

no i absolutely get that, it would worry me too and i imagine its often(?) the right call but also like just ASSUMING they dont feel pain is i cant get behind that
