wonder if returns on some 3090s would be better than buying coin directly. hmm

for eth, 30 series (non-Ti, which has firmware hacks to slow mining), amd, 5700xt has high efficiency and is relatively cheap for btc bitmain or whatsminer asics

i spreadsheeted all of the gpus, their market cost, and their efficiency (MH/w) back in the spring and the 5700xt was surprisingly the optimal one, bought a bunch and it worked out well, not sure if this is still the case though

(optimal as in the optimal tradeoff between upfront market cost and efficiency, many of them can also be aggressively downclocked and undervolted for even higher efficiency)

i would not put any capex in eth mining, because the main chain is going to swap the execution layer on to the PoS chain (https://beaconcha.in/ ), you're unlikely to reach profitability before that happens at this point
