solar cycles do seem to be of interest, an active subfield somewhere eg here, better written article not obvious how much of the Little Ice Age is explained by the Maunder Minimum vs eg New World epidemics, Genghis Khan, volcanoes, etchttps://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-021-84830-5 …
i dont have anywhere near enough context to add value to the technical discussion but i think its worth noting the extent to which grand history is shaped by Divine Wrath in the form of plagues and volcanoes and climate changes and such
Reminder that Lancet published non peer reviewed papers propagating hoaxes around COVID, masking, disease spread, etc during COVID
the grand minimum hypothesis is pretty unrelated to earth-sun distance, it's all about the absolute solar luminosity
a while ago I read an interesting long series about solar activity and paleoclimate, starting with https://judithcurry.com/2016/10/24/nature-unbound-i-the-glacial-cycle/ … (need to use the search function to find the rest) it was skeptical about the grand minimum hypothesis
Yep, all planets "wobble" / pull on their sun a slight amount. It's one way we can do exoplanet surveys when we can't actually see the planet with observatories.
