zero indexing is tidy, not mapping onto whole numbers (relies on zero = fake number) one indexing is yolo

the zero index in programming reflects that the memory address of the first segment of the array has an offset of 0 from the first iterator item. so it's very elegant for the array index to just be the offset from the first item. 1-indexing is perverse.

my interpretation is different the virgin "index notation should be like the way we teach children to count" vs. the chad "index notation should just reflect the system itself"
