Last year, when many big Democratic cities wouldn't, or couldn't, open schools because of the resistance of the teachers' unions, there were those who said this was going to turn a lot of angry parents against the Dems. Sure enough, it did.

In other words, alot of parents didn't want to give up their free daycare that teachers ALSO provide, even if it means untold number of those very teachers might die as a result.
