three common effects of telling everyone your plan before acting on it: 1. hurts your cause bc plan becomes known to your enemies and they can react accordingly 2. has no effect on your cause 3. helps your cause by coordinating action by allies or overaweing your enemies

generally i would expect "here are the rhetorical tactics i will use to advance my strategic aims" to be counterproductive because it would give advance warning and because it might lead observers to see you as insincere or manipulative, or leave you open to accusations of such

i wonder if here the coordination/banner-planting value substantially outweighed this potential cost. and further that costs were not actually that high vs counterfactual because Certain People were going to call him a bad racist regardless of whether he announced his plans

a further issue is that there might not actually be any effective counter to these tactics at current margins and so announcing them openly is a massive flex on ones opponents and quite demoralizing for them which matters in a preference falsification regime

anyway this is just spitballing. i have no idea how i would test any of this and you shouldnt believe any of it. enjoy your Wednesday

one other thought this may work especially or specifically when an opponent has been occupying a bailey for so long theyve don't know how, or that they need, to retreat in the face of a capable assault rufos opponents may have very much overextended themselves in this manner

So he's an anime character. He calls out his moves as he uses them and they still land for some reason

if I were a cultivator all my attacks would have names that were completely misdescriptive like my Magic Missile* would be called "Ground Swallows You Up" so they'd look at their feet while the missile flew *there's ALWAYS Magic Missile, if there's magic, there's Magic Missile
