leaning toward not caring because i. i already have a ds title at a well known firm ive been at for years ii. i can just put ds on my resume for this if needed and the work really does match the ds title iii. ideally i will never need to find another job through recruiters so

Is data science really science if computer science isn't really science?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cy0v1scOmLw …

90% chance if you ask they’ll think “oh shit we’ve been calling our data scientists ‘analysts’ this whole time? How embarrassing!” No one knows what to call jobs in this field, there’s no rules, everyone’s making it up as they go along

Jobs titles matter in the hierarchy (i.e. business) in which they are defined. Between different orgs, they're a guide, but don't line up neatly. In an org, titles are inconsistent. E.g. director can imply an empire with 100+ people/many teams, or a senior guy with no directs.
