I'm a CS major who mostly enjoys art and fiction, pretends to understand philosophy, and stays up at night reading niche geopolitics and metapolitics blogs. What the hell kind of a career am I supposed to be looking for.

“They let us read whatever we want to.” one of the most important things I tell young’uns. (And, even more surprisingly, you can write / do / etc, too.)

I feel like most of my peers remain unaware that you can be content with a career that does not overlap with your hobbies & interests. That's an option! Historically, it's probably the modal option also (to the extent that pre modern people even had the luxury of "hobbies")

I often say having strong interests beyond and away from your career is the ideal goal! There’s no reason you can’t code, read, write, create art, compete in local sports leagues, etc. — all of it!
