ive been made aware that expecting people to show up on time is white supremacy, with this in mind i will be twenty minutes late in showing up to diversity training as an expression of solidarity,,

hm. that was actually a very interesting experience. surely not in the way that was intended. but i learned alot about other things overall my guess is that everyone of every persuasion left unsatisfied. im going to recommend they add some borges to the theory material

my summary of the training was that it was incredibly slapdash, well below our usual standards, and contained at least one statistically impossible scenario but basically there were boring business questions interspersed among various tiresome and insane woke applause buttons

This is actually one of my biggest complaints with corporate diversity training (I'm probably more on board with the goals than you are, although It's Complicated): It's almost never designed in a way that suggests that the people running care about it achieving anything.

hm. i think it probably is designed to achieve things and my expectation is that it actually does achieve them in most cases, just those things are incredibly banal and typically only tangentially related to the content not sure which of us is more cynical but its prolly me

It's possible we're putting our thresholds as what counts as "designed to achieve things" in different places. I don't think people are going in not trying to achieve things, I think they're going in not having done the requisite work to think through how it's going to do that.

more explicitly my guess is that the actual corporate aims of these trainings tend to be "avoid bad pr by not having them," "satisfy lefty employees by Doing Something and Taking a Stand," and "not get sued" so the content and attitudes seem somewhat irrelevant there

Yeah I guess I mean professed aims rather than this. I agree these are typically the actual aims
