tbh i have a story about this from my short-lived stint in officer training (no one got hurt cos there were no bullets) so a whole bunch of navy officer cadets, inclusive of myself, were getting instruction on how to use pistols. like, clearing, loading/unloading, etc

there was literally negative trigger discipline. people were like pointing them at each other, finger on the trigger, or actually pulling the trigger, racking the pistol repeatedly just for fun, etc

i spent some time in the army beforehand and they really drilled in all the weapon discipline and so i got *so mad* i went in front of everyone and basically cussed them all out and then they laughed because all the pistols were unloaded so what's the harm?
