there were a lot of problems with Atlas Shrugged as literature but as others have observed it was masterful in its depiction of the operation of state establishments in the face of economic collapse this reads like a government pronouncement from the second half of the bookhttps://twitter.com/washingtonpost/status/1450410755698958337 …

i basically agree with the gist of this thread major caveat is i populations may be willing to put up with privation if they believe there is a reason for doing so (eg war for a nation they want to defend) but otherwise ehhhhhh watch the mandate of heavenhttps://twitter.com/Tinkzorg/status/1450476015566852099?t=4exQN6H5VddnshAl-gMnMA&s=19 …

I don't really see why this is a big deal, we're facing an unprecedented level of consumer demand and a lack of elasticity in our supply chain. The inflation isn't great but the fed has already said they are gonna raise rates soon

Replacement parts for industrial equipment that came in 3 days are being quoted at 20 weeks. It might end up being a problem.

This is really strange, I feel a lot of people are annoyed at this type of thing, stuff that used to be easy to get having delays of more than half a year now. I've heard them grumble. Wouldn't politicians not want to needlessly antagonize people for caring about something?

The journos at least had the humility to be like, "i'm with ya, but to stay sane, let's just expect less", and this is just a "you're a loser for caring" vibe, which can't possibly be persuasive to anyone impacted by this at all.
