when i take control of the medical industry i will not disempower the Bioethicists but i will fire all of the current ones and replace them with virtue bioethicists

actually what the fuck what kind of ethical system is even predominant among bioethicists its not virtue, its certainly not any recognizable consequentialism bureaucratic deontology?

It gets even wierder when you realize... Long history of principlism here. To summarize, the proto form was the Belmont report, chaired by Ruth Faden, Beauchamp's wife. Also beneficence and NM were originally 1 principle, split because it was entirely impossible to manage.

As for SME, I have a PhD in Health care ethics (program named in the early 90s before bioethics was mainstream enough to use as a program name) and wrote my dissertation in part on the failure of principlism 1/2

(more broadly I discussed the failure of B&C and how one principle is always elevated to supreme status rendering the others ancillary/moot, then carried this into current trends in animal research ethics "3Rs" which I outlined were being treated as principles but were virtues)
