if these chinese firms defaulting becomes a financial contagion that tanks the global market i'm actually reading it as a bullish indicator for china. great depression started in America afaik and look at how that turned out for us.

I think everyone is still just traumatized from 2008, it comes up every time indicators look bad and legions of people just have the classical conditioning of "I'm hearing about real estate finance uh oh"

i dont think theyre wrong to do so
real estate markets remain fucked up everywhere, just in different directions
it may be some ptsd on my part for sure tho, i did spend 2-3 years of my working life doing real estate econ and man
