When young, one year feels like a lifetime but then later on it’s as if the dawn of humanity was just yesterday. This effect scales much faster than your age. What’s the evolutionary point of subjectively contracting time with age like this?

Could be. A side effect of something in particular? Feels so strong and non-linear as if the importance of understanding time is of growing urgency with each day.
