nursing phds are a separate issue, they have all the usual issues with phd programs, but typically they're not intended for practitioners afaik

Yeah but again pretty sure French hospitals have those and they don’t have master’s degrees. Continuing education & other forms of training, I’m sure.

huh interesting i had the impression NPs and CRNAs were partly an idiosyncratic function of US MDs strangling the supply of doctors, thereby creating crippling shortages of slightly-less-skilled practitioners that eventually got filled with nurses way out of my depth now tho
