Correct me if I’m wrong but it’s just that you need these degrees to get promotions/money, like in the ed system, it’s pure credentialing. There are PhDs in nursing!

not quite like that--believe they actually fulfill different hospital roles. ive not worked in such but consider differences in skill between eg changing bedpans vs nurse anesthetists managing anesthesia during a surgery or NPs operating independently
