We should have one protocol to publish social data: basically you just have to insure who publishes what and when. Then different ways to crawl published content could be built on top of it. Nowadays social media conflate the content and the way to browse the content.

Main reason why I ended up trying out and liking Twitter. Turns out it’s way better to follow interesting people rather than topics, as communities around certain topics grow the more they start to cater to the lowest common denominator.

Thought about this. I think the categorisation is good, as it encourages development of deep knowledge in an area. Agree that only flairing to differentiate users is a bad thing. I wonder if they have considered altering the voting system to prefer some contributors

also each subreddit can suppress minority viewpoints via downvoting and bans, so groupthink is a huge problem. every contentious subreddit becomes a bubble.

That's only really a problem if you think of Reddit as a social media platform, which it isn't. It's an aggregator
