So many great memories. Online gaming has come close but never reached the feeling of LAN with your bros in their parents basement.

First kid outside would carry either a Nerf gun, super soaker, laser tag, or (I shit you not), cap gun. Everyone would see that from their apartment windows and we'd know what the Day's Activities would be. Sometimes we did do neighborhood sized CTF or (my fave) manhunt

Neighborhood waterballoon fights too. Or radio flyer races down the hill. As we got older pick up games replaced these earlier games, but I always preferred the original games we played before the more formalized ball sports. The rules & structurewere necessary as puberty hit tho

Neighborhood wide airsoft where nobody called the police pretending to be pokemon trainers in the backyard biking to my buddies house to play Rollercoaster tycoon and check out his micromachines
-
my uncle taught me how to play H:MaM IV and Caesar, cousin gave me his copy of starcraft brood war. Buddy had a lan party every year for his birthday where we played stupid shit like counterstrike 1.6 I miss it
