i always enjoy the debt ceiling negotiations sort of like two people talking near an armed nuclear warhead that will detonate shortly if they dont each turn a key simultaneously to disarm it i wouldnt want to be in that situation on the other side of cocaine mitch

Printing money is worse than taxes because taxes don't increase money supply. But debt DOES increase the money supply, so in that way it is similar to printing money. Main reason printing might be worse is incentives. Once you start doing it, it feels like you can go on forever.

Also, however bad you think it would be not to increase the debt ceiling, it is pure confusion to suggest that is the same thing as the US defaulting on its debts, as is repeatedly done in the news.
