I remember one time I said something about how annoying and stupid it is that every online recipe has a lengthy story preceding it and a bunch of women got really mad at me on this app. If your story was that compelling you wouldn't need to hide valuable information after it.

I read a story from the 1960's about piano teachers complaining about how, with the popularity of Liberace, piano recitals were no longer "come in, play, leave". The kid had to turn to the audience and tell a story first. All that to say: When I give a recipe, I'll talk first.

it's both. recipes aren't copyrightable and there are websites that try to extract them from web pages, so a lot of that is essentially a captcha
