just bought an electric lawn mower which is apparently a thing that exists

The wacker is good for edge trimming around pavement/fences and other places the mower can't reach

Depending on what you got, the batteries can be interchangeable which is useful.

Dad rebuilt Mom's entire front yard for not having to use a weed whacker which was amazing as a kid. But either condemn yourself to buying a backpack Roundup sprayer or buy a weed whacker for edge details.

Re rakes: * Preferentially, you'd mow for purposes of mulching in the fall. * Failing that, get the biggest *industrial* leaf blower you can find so you spend 20 minutes/year making a godawful noise instead of literally two days raking.

yes, you should get a weed whacker. do not be that house with freshly cut grass that still manages to cover the sidewalk! trimming the edge of your lawn is actually more important that cutting it!!!!! (can you tell i have multiple neighbors that do dont own weed whackers?)

do not own*

I have one and only use it rarely. However, I use my electric leaf blower all the time. You can probably get one that uses the same batteries as your mower and it is so much more pleasant than gas powered ones
