I think the long term impact of this on teachers in the US might end up greater than the impact on police sort of suspect there's a kind of tacit agreement to not want to know about classrooms this would make that difficult to maintain

i just think it's silly to think schoolteachers merit the same level of antipathy/oversight as the surveillance state or armed law enforcement. also, mandatory reporting is a responsibility shared by lots of people, most of whom aren't state employees
