there's a remarkable cowardice in choosing not to believe the things which will improve you and the world.

And the ultimate irony being, those that choose not to believe those things think it's some form or great bravery. They admit the "truth" of the universe. It's like the inverse of Pascal's Wager and people are worse for it.

I feel weird about dr. chapman in that i feel both more mystical and more rationalist than he. always something interesting to say however

when a nihilist (or an anti-nihilist) tries to argue about meaning and/or meaninglessness with me I ask him instead about his friends and family and what his favorite books and movies are, what are his fondest memories, when did he feel most inspired, grateful, joyful, delighted
