just finished reading Red Rising, ty @PrinceVogel I think for the recc
its a YA novel about a kid who goes to battle school. so its got the same basic structure as Ender's Game, that one with Jennifer Lawrence, harry potter etc
well executed, tightly plotted if not literary

i don't think he addresses this question directly, but he does focus on how poisoned the settings of these books often are in the first place. and from my experience, people focus much more on the settings of these novels than the ultimate outcome and its attached lesson

weirdly enough, this feels different from comic books, where the setting seems to fade away or be complimentary to the morals gleaned. all based off my anecdata, but i wonder if this jives with others experience
