This thought exercise believes that you and the general public will be correct where experts are wrong if they are ignored, which seems totally false to me. So you think that you shouldn't choose a belief because views change over time and experts disagree, but the belief that you shouldn't choose a belief is somehow immune to this? Not picking a side is a choice based on history and evidence, which is the same as picking one.

Also this is totally impossible to apply on a micro-scale even if it can vaguely be applied to politics
