Todays academic experts know more about their field than you'll ever know about anything, and if you actually listened to them, they make it very clear what the limits of their understanding are. "Experts are unreliable because consensus changes" isn't a cool take, it's ignorance

How about 1) experts are unreliable b/c of incentives to publish, overstate value of findings, protect funding/status for their field, etc 2) overspecialization has made experts worse at policy prescriptions involving tradeoffs outside their field
