lol we gave like 45 days notice to our landlord on a month to month lease our signed lease has 20 days stipulated hes insisting that they "notified" us that we have to give 60 days after going month to month fuck this. just getting an attorney

received a casual consultation with an attorney. hes not in state so caveat emptor but. i am happy to report that our lease may be illegal

Landlord tenant law is pretty local but I would expect you’ll be fine. You might have to sue for your security deposit but you’ll win (bonus you may even get treble damages if he withholds if WA is anything like CA law on this point).

Landlords rarely expect you to escalate. I’ve had one back down real fast just from receiving a certified letter with some formal statement of my position in a disagreement.
