Not really, the Taliban is deeply unpopular in most of afg, who view them as a foreign occupying army just as much as NATO is. Not that that's any of our businesses or that we should have been there in the first place, but no need to pretend they're the good guys

oh, i'm not making value judgements about them being good guys or not but they ARE afghani at least sucks that we spent 20 years forging them into an extremely capable army that other afghans now have to contend with there's some parallels to US domestic police here...
