im vaccinated and i would really prefer everyone choose to be vaccinated but i dont spend time talking about this for a few reasons. this first is that i dont actually think it would have the desired effect if i just yelled at people about it. relatedly this feels tendentious.

So it is especially frustrating that expressions like the one in the screencap exist because I think they make it /less/ likely that people who are reluctant to get a vaccine will actually do so, if for no other reason than to spite people who clearly hate them and wish them ill

rulers in a democracy cannot afford to be openly contemptuous of the people they govern, and even aside from that this kind of attitude is indecent and inhumane and I really wish people quite generally would stop burning down the country to own their outgroup

He gave it an us vs them slant. I don't like that. That's my issue with a lot of the pro vax rhetoric, us vs them. All it does is piss the people off who don't want to be vaccinated, or are on the fence about it.
