one thing i appreciate is how massively and fractally federalized power in the US is the government actually has great difficulty in doing much on a federal scale in the face of resistance by localities and this seems to be becoming more true

off the top of my head the feds have been unable to enforce immigration law and marijuana prohibitions various states and cities just dont give a fuck and the feds cant do anything about it but i think theres some real red_dot_airplane.jpg energy here

i don't think sanctuary cities make feds unable to enforce immigration law, and marijuana enforcement is forbearance rather than inability
