Ok here’s a question I agree that the term ‘ingroup’ has problems. I favor attempts to find a better name But I have heard it claimed that ‘people feel excluded by it’ Has anyone ever specifically described feeling excluded by it or do ppl just think that ppl feel that way

fwiw ingroup is a fractally perfect name in ways I wont get into but I think it also described originally a discrete subculture at a discrete time that subculture has faded and the name is skeuomorphic

that subculture in turn grew out of an older group whose name i am not even at liberty to mention it still exists and we know who was a member at the time
