Ok here’s a question I agree that the term ‘ingroup’ has problems. I favor attempts to find a better name But I have heard it claimed that ‘people feel excluded by it’ Has anyone ever specifically described feeling excluded by it or do ppl just think that ppl feel that way

that subculture in turn grew out of an older group whose name i am not even at liberty to mention it still exists and we know who was a member at the time

I mention this because gatekeeping and exclusion are morally complicated and while you should do whatever you like you should probably think very carefully about what outcome you are trying to attain first what the failure modes are
